Alhamdulillah!

notes-along-the-journey:

I just said the Shahadah (around 5:50pm-ish)! I am officially a Muslim!

I meant to do it yesterday, but today was to be the day. I went outside, to the side/back of the house (for privacy & to reflect of the beauty of Allah’s creations) and just looked around me. I saw a spider’s web, a swallow in the air, flowers, the pretty sunlight, a crow feather, and the clouds— I joke not, this one right above made a simplistic shape of Allah’s name! I couldn’t believe it. Subhan’Allah! I wish I had my camera! Moments later, when I looked up, it disappeared. There were some distractions…some kids playing, cars and my own jumble of thoughts, but it went well. I eventually said the words out loud, first in Arabic than English. I was worried I said them incorrectly, so I said it a few more times, lol. I expect it all to sink in later! I haven’t had time to really reflect on it. My parents and other things are distracting me, heh. I read one should shower after, but I can’t right away, so I’ll do that tonight. Part of me feels that I was already reverted, I just had to say the words, so the transition isn’t as drastic as others might experience, mine was more of a gradual progression. But still! I am a Muslim!:-) Alhamdulillah!

Masha Allah and Congratulations!
May Peace Be upon you.

notes-along-the-journey:

Ta’la al Badru ‘Alayna (Arabic: طلع البدر علينا) is a traditional Islamic song (Nasheed) that the Ansar sung to the Prophet Muhammad upon his arrival at Yathrib after completing the Hijra in 622 CE. The song is currently over 1400 years old, and one of the oldest in the Islamic culture.

طلع البدر علينا
Tala’ul Badru ‘Alayna
Oh the white moon rose over us

من ثنيات الوداع
Min thaniyatil wada
From the valley of Wada.

وجب الشكر علينا
Wajabal shukru ‘alayna
And we owe it to show gratefulness

ما دعى لله داع
Ma da’ali lahi da
Where the call is to Allah.

أيها المبعوث فينا
Ayuhal mab’uthu fina
Oh you who were raised among us

جئت بالأمر المطاع
Ji’ta bil amri muta
Coming with a word to be obeyed

جئت شرفت المدينة
Ji’ta sharaftal madinah
You have brought to this city nobleness

مرحبا يا خير داع
Marhaban ya khayra da
Welcome best caller to God’s way
