2010 - The beginning of a New Year
2010 is barely 40 minutes away and with it comes the promise of a new year were we can perhaps do things differently.
I for one will take a different path this time around and avoid the mistakes made in the past.
At the end of 2008 I set 3 New Year resolutions for myself to complete in 2009 and fortunately I have been able to complete at least 2 of them while I have gotten better at the 3rd one but not as good as I wanted to be.
My 2009 New Year resolutions were simple in their nature as they were focused on my professional growth in which I was to learn a new programming language, a MVC framework and graphic designing.
So how much did I accomplish in 2009, I learned a new programming language called Ruby, worked on not 1 but 3(Rails, CakePHP, CodeIgniter) different MVC frameworks for 2 different languages and got a much better understanding of design but I was unable to come up with time for fully learning graphic designing.
Now that said its time to set 2010’s New Year resolutions and they are to:
- Find a good decent reputable company to work at and settle down.
- Learn Graphic Designing
Although they don’t seem much more difficult than the last year’s resolutions believe me finding good work in Saudi Arabia is not an easy task.
Feel free to share your New Year resolutions; you do have them don’t you?
Eid Mubarak Everyone! May it be a blessed & joyous one for you and yours!
=)
A happy Eid Mubarak to all brothers & sisters across the world.
The first day of Eid ul-Fitr from Jeddah.
It’s the first day of Eid ul-Fitr here in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and as there is not much to do here most people usually sleep the day away or visit family’s & friends and they watch some TV or movies as well.
So as it had been quite a while since I had seen any movie due to being overloaded with work most of the time.
I had planned to see as many movies as I could during my short time off and so I have seen four movies today till now which I think is enough for today but maybe I will catch an episode or two of some show.
The first movie that I saw today was the District 9 and there is not much to say other then it was an OK movie but leaving the ending like the way they left it was a waste of time for me.
The second movie was the Traitor and this was a good movie that I would recommend others to watch.
Now the third movie was the Hellboy II: The Golden Army which was just OK nothing special about it.
Last but not the least so far is the The Dark Night which I just saw and whose storyline, acting & everything else was just brilliant.
I have to say that you don’t see such a brilliant storyline in most movies these days as the one in The Dark Night and the great acting done by everyone especially by heath ledger as the Joker.
I don’t recall a movie where I have seen the villain bring so much death & destruction and not just the physical kind but the emotional & the destruction of good souls.
I am totally hooked & cannot wait for another sequel to this new series of Batman movies.
Now too round things up I wish a very happy Eid to all brothers & sisters.
Eid Mubarak.
August 2009 had 5 Saturdays, 5 Sundays and 5 Mondays, all in one month. This only happens once in 823 years.
